The NBA was founded in New York City in 1946 and has entertained fans over the decades with incredible feats of athleticism, colorful characters, and larger-than-life personalities. Being around that long means the league has amassed enough stars, statistics, and stories to fill an arena. From Wilt Chamberlian's 100 point night to the team that originally drafted Kobe Bryant to the shortest person to ever play the game, how well do you know your NBA trivia? We are letting you know up front that this quiz is not designed for basketball rookies. You need to be a hardcore hoops head to get a perfect score. But even if you're not a fanatic, don't let that stop you from taking the test. You might find out you know more about NBA lore than you think. So lace up your sneakers, toss on your jersey, grab the rock, and take this quiz.

Did you know?
Every year some of the best players in the league gather together to participate in the NBA All-Star game. But many basketball historians say the greatest squad to ever play together was the 1992 Olympic Dream Team. This was the first time professional players from the NBA were allowed to compete in the Olympics. Prior to this, the International Basketball Federation banned NBA players. But in 1988, the United States' team was composed of amateurs and only took home the bronze medal. It was the United States' worst finish in Olympic basketball history, and the rules were changed ahead of the 1992 Olympics. This squad was composed of some of the best basketball players, including Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and Charles Barkley. As a nod to when only amateurs could play, the team added one college player: Christian Laettner, who played at Duke University. This team beat its opponents by an average of 44 points and defeated Croatia to take home the gold medal.
