Chantelle

Chantelle took to the written word like a fish takes to water. That is to say, she found herself immersed in literature from before she was born. She’s been known to tell her friends all about how she can still remember the passages she heard her mother read to her when she was in the womb - Emily Dickinson, Jane Austen, and a bit of Hunter S. Thompson thrown in to balance it out. Whether she’s whipping up pithy one-liners to tease your brain or busy working on her second novel (the first one is available on Amazon under a pen name she refuses to disclose), Chantelle has continued to keep her feet wet with words, as it were. You’re sure to get a kick out of her giggle-worthy explanations and outrageous hints, and still come away feeling like you’ve just expanded your knowledge base.

Did you know?

Were Hermione and Ron always meant to be soulmates?

The author herself has wondered whether Hermione and Ron were actually soulmates. Like many readers, J.K. Rowling thinks that perhaps Hermione and Harry were a better couple. During one interview with Emma Watson, she said, “I wrote the Hermione/Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfillment.” She didn’t necessarily think they were a better pairing than Hermione and Harry, but she had always imagined Hermione and Ron together. She believes Hermione and Ron’s relationship was perhaps too “combative” and wouldn’t have worked “in an adult relationship.” When asked whether Hermione should have married Harry instead, she said, “In some ways, Hermione and Harry are a better fit.”

There’s a scene in Deathly Hallows that gives readers a glimpse at a Harry/Hermione relationship. Rowling says she felt “strongly” about the pairing when she wrote this scene but ultimately decided to stick with her original plan.
