Did you know?

The cast of The Office could have been very, very different

When actors for the US version of The Office were being cast, things could have turned out much differently than they did. Adam Scott, from Parks and Recreation, auditioned for the role of Jim Halpert. John Krasinski, who ended up with the role, was asked to audition for the part of Dwight Schrute. Luckily, John convinced the powers that be that he was much more suited to play Jim. Modern Family's Eric Stonestreet wanted to be Kevin Malone. Imagine Pam being played by Angela Kinsey — because that's who she originally auditioned for. Finally, it's true that Bob Odenkirk of Better Call Saul fame was the first Michael Scott. Steve Carrell replaced him, however, when a show he'd been working on was canceled. Not to worry about Bob Odenkirk; he later appeared in an episode of The Office as a manager in Philadelphia who wanted to hire Pam.
