Stu's missing tooth was real
One of the best scenes from The Hangover is when dentist, Stu, wakes up and realizes he's missing a tooth. This leaves Bradley Cooper's character, Phil, in hysterics! Stu picks up a mirrored surface and opens his mouth wide to discover a bit of a bloody mouth with one of his teeth completely gone! As a dentist, he's absolutely mortified that this has happened to him! Stu starts to panic, wondering how he is going to explain this to his girlfriend when he has no recollection of the events leading up to this! It turns out that this isn't makeup or special effects - Stu really is missing a tooth in real life! Ed Helms, who plays Stu in the movie, never had his adult incisors grow in and usually wears fake ones in real life. This was the perfect addition to the film, as they didn't have to make believe it was fake.
