The Land of Ooo is closer than you may think
As bizarre as the Land of Ooo seems, with its Candy Kingdom, talking pastries, and shapeshifting dogs, it’s actually supposed to be our world, only set far in the future. As the show slowly reveals in hints here and there, 1,000 years before the show is set, the world was like it is now. Then a massive nuclear war destroyed civilization and somehow kind of broke reality itself. As a result, magic became real, and all sorts of strange creatures came into existence, and the post-apocalyptic world came to resemble something out of a fairy tale. A thousand years later, the resulting Land of Ooo bore almost no resemblance to the world that once was, except for the occasional wrecked vehicle or zombified businessman. Indeed, a few of the characters are actually so old that they predate the nuclear war and originally come from our civilization.
How to Play?
