Which Addams Family Character are You?

They've been called creepy and spooky and altogether ooky. The Addams Family television series ran from 1964 to 1966 on ABC. Just two short years, but it remains a beloved part of American pop culture, spawning multiple made-for-TV movies, theatrical films, several animated series, and a Tony Award-nominated Broadway show. Now, our slightly off neighbors have returned to screens everywhere in Wednesday, the new Netflix Original Series.

There's a smidge of "kooky" and Addams Family weirdness in us all. Which of these loveable weirdos are you most like?

Charlie took to the written word like a fish takes to water. That is to say; they found themselves immersed in literature from before they were born. They've been known to tell their friends how they can still remember the passages their parents read to them when they were in utero - Emily Dickinson, Jane Austen, and a bit of Hunter S. Thompson thrown in to balance it out. Charlie keeps their feet wet, whether they're whipping up pithy one-liners to tease your brain or busy working on their second novel (the first one is available on Amazon under a pen name they refuse to disclose). You’re sure to get a kick out of giggle-worthy explanations and outrageous hints, and still come away feeling like you’ve just expanded your knowledge base.

Did you know?

The Addam's family have been our pop-culture neighbors for longer than you might think

The Addams Family has been credited with inspiring the American goth subculture and its macabre-chic fashion. Their story is best known via the 1960s television series, but its roots go back much farther. In fact, the family first appeared in a one-panel cartoon published in The New Yorker in 1938, sketched by creator Charles Addams. Over the next two decades, they would feature nearly 60 more sketches until the show's September 1964 debut. The ABC TV series introduced the Addamses to an exponentially larger audience and even launched a popular dance. You can bet that if TikTok had been around in the 1960s, the "Lurch" would have been America's latest viral dance trend.
