Micheal Bay's adaptation of the Transformers franchise is a modern-day masterpiece. From a stellar cast and clever action sequences to cutting-edge, computer-generated imagery, the wildly popular series constantly pushes the boundaries of filmmaking. It's also a lot of fun to watch, with memorable characters and exciting journeys in time and space. The international community agrees, transforming the franchise from a science fiction film into four action-packed sequels grossing billions of dollars worldwide. Bumblebee, one of the fandom's favorite characters, also scored a spinoff film of the same name, and future sequels are in the works. In a clear case of life imitating art, the Transformers are here to stay. How much do you know about the neverending robot wars and the events in human history that they inspired? Are you among the Prime Transformers fans with extensive knowledge of the myths and complex history of the robots? Or are you merely a sidekick going along for the ride? This quiz tests your Transformers universe knowledge to find your fandom ranking.

Charlie took to the written word like a fish takes to water. That is to say; they found themselves immersed in literature from before they were born. They've been known to tell their friends how they can still remember the passages their parents read to them when they were in utero - Emily Dickinson, Jane Austen, and a bit of Hunter S. Thompson thrown in to balance it out. Charlie keeps their feet wet, whether they're whipping up pithy one-liners to tease your brain or busy working on their second novel (the first one is available on Amazon under a pen name they refuse to disclose). You’re sure to get a kick out of giggle-worthy explanations and outrageous hints, and still come away feeling like you’ve just expanded your knowledge base.

In the 1980s, Mattel had immense success with their character He-Man and their Masters of the Universe toy collection. Hoping to duplicate Mattel's accomplishments, they looked at Japanese toymakers for inspiration and found it in Takara Toys. Takara manufactured two transformable action figure lines, Diaclone and Microman. Hasbro bought the American distribution rights to the two lines and rebranded them to appeal to American children. With the characters designed and the backstories rewritten, the company needed memorable names for the two robot leaders. Hasbro reached out to Marvel Comics editors and writers, who later came up with the names for Optimus Prime and Megatron. The original lineup of Transformers action figures and the animated series were both released in 1984. Tonka's Gobots, also a line of toys and an animated series, looks similar to Transformers, and many people assumed the cartoon was a knockoff of Hasbro's characters. On the contrary, the Gobots were released years before the Transformers debuted. Hasbro purchased Tonka in the 1990s, acquiring the names and characters in the Gobots line. Some of the Gobots made it into the Transformers' storyline and the cast of characters.
