Body types according to science
The University of Houston released a new kind of body type study in the 1940s. Rather than relying on terms like "apple" or "pear" to describe each body type, researchers took it to another level. After an extensive study, they published their findings, concluding that the human body falls into three basic categories — ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph. Given the name Somatotypes, here's what each one of them means. The ectomorph body type is long and lean with little fat or muscle. Mesomorphs are solid and built for rowdy sports, and endomorphs have lots of body fat and are prone to easily gaining weight. As we're sure you can see, this theory leaves a lot of room for interpretation and covers many body types under one umbrella. What's the easiest way to tell your body type? Look in a mirror and realize how fabulous you are without labeling yourself with a type.
