Blackpink is a South Korean K-pop girl group made up of Rosé, Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo. The band exploded onto the music scene in 2016 and has only grown in popularity since. Their début album, Square One, contained their single "Whistle," Blackpink's first South Korean number-one hit. The band also became the first-ever female K-pop group to enter the Billboard Emerging Artist Chart and the highest-ranking female K-pop group on the Billboard Top 100 and 200 charts, charting at 41 with their single "Kill This Love." Blackpink released the music video for Ddu-Du Ddu-Du in 2018, and in just 24 hours, it had received more than 36.2 million Youtube views. This made the song the most-viewed YouTube video in the first 24 hours of release. Previous to Blackpink, Psy held the title for most video views in the first 24 hours with Gangnam Style. Though other new releases now have more early views, Blackpink did manage to beat their own record with Kill This Love, which was released in 2019. The single received an outstanding 56.7 million views in the first day of its release, placing it at number four in this list, behind BTS's Boy With Luv and Me! by Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie. With a loyal following of "Blinks" and millions of views worldwide, it's obvious that Blackpink is making a splash in the music world.
