Did you know?

Spin That Record!

Did you know vinyl records date back to the mid-19th century? In 1857, Edouard-Leon Scott of France developed a device that used a vibrating pen to record sound on paper discs. In 1877, Thomas Edison took that device and turned it into the phonograph, which could play recordings on tinfoil. As early as 1894, music lovers could buy 7” discs with a speed of 70 rpm. Originally, recordings were captured acoustically through a horn. It wasn’t until the 1920s that people began recording sound through microphones, which drastically improved the quality. By the early 1900s, the 10” record was the most popular option. It held about three minutes of music on each side. Most records contained just one song, but in 1909, producers created the first album package. Tchaikovsky’s "Nutcracker Suite" was released on four double-sided discs!

How to Play?

Our personality quizzes are set up a little differently than your basic trivia quiz, but you’ve probably seen their kind around. Rather than having to choose the right answer from a list of multiple choice options, in this case, there is no “right answer”! (Two plus two will always be four, but every Golden Girls character is equally awesome.)

So, stop stressing. Just click on the answer that suits you best, and enjoy the ride. These quizzes are just for fun but who knows – you might just learn something about yourself along the way!
