When George Lucas sat down to pen his first draft of Star Wars we're sure he had no idea what a lasting impact he'd have on the world. Let's face the fact that Star Wars is a major part of our cultural heritage. We'd be remiss if we didn't admit that it has a large part to play in the development of our cultural identity. From movies to toys, and comic books, comic cons, and cosplay have all been hugely impacted by the Star Wars universe.
We all can identify with the epic hero's quest, bonds formed in the face of peril, and the redemption of a villain. Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman are easy to confuse
So easy, in fact, that both of their mothers often got them mixed up. At the time of Episode I in 1999, Keira Knightley was just 14 years old, and Natalie Portman was 17 years old. When they were in makeup, the other characters in the movie, the viewers, cast members, and even family members thought they looked nearly identical.
In real life, they both loved acting from a young age and picked up small roles early on. But their personalities aren't that similar. Keira Knightley is more of a tomboy who likes to stay at home alone. Whereas Natalie Portman loved to host slumber parties during her teen years.
Education was vastly different as well. Keira Knightley thought acting was of the utmost importance and struggled with dyslexia as well as ADHD. This made it hard for her to read scripts. Natalie Portman graduated with honors from Harvard with an A.B. in psychology. She didn't care if her career was ruined, she claimed that her education was more important. She has contributed to scientific journals and has an IQ of 140, with the ability to speak at least six languages.
While Natalie Portman was going to school, Keira Knightley was starring in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie! Which hit records at the box office!
However, both Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley are equally successful today and are worth about $50 million each. They each have their fans, but most people just love both Sabe and Padme! Wait which one was which again?
