The Lakers had Kareem, Magic, Kobe, and LeBron. The Celtics had Larry Bird, Bob Cousy, Kevin McHale, and John Havlicek. Both organizations had legendary coaches managing the players. One thing that sets the franchises apart is the cities they've called home. Since their formation in 1946, the Celtics have always hung their hat in Boston. But the Lakers haven't always been found in Los Angeles. The franchise originally started in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes. But in 1960, the franchise moved to La-La Land and gave the NBA its first West Coast team.
