This wasn't just any ordinary song; it was a hip-hop novelty track that showcased the team's confidence and swagger. Released in December 1985, two months before their victory in Super Bowl XX, the song quickly became a mainstream sensation. It sold over half a million copies and even peaked at number 41 on the US Billboard Hot 100. But that's not all; it earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 1987.
The 1985 Chicago Bears were pioneers in more ways than one. They were the first sports team to have their own music video. The song and its accompanying video were not just for entertainment; they had a charitable cause behind them. Over $300,000 in profits from the song and music video were generously donated to the Chicago Community Trust. This initiative aimed to support Chicago families in need, providing them with essentials like clothing, shelter, and food. Walter Payton, one of the team's star players, even had a lyric in the song that highlighted this noble cause: "Now we're not doing this because we're greedy / The Bears are doing it to feed the needy."

However, the team was adamant about releasing it shortly after the shoot. As a compromise, Payton and McMahon filmed their segments separately a week later, and these were later integrated into the video.
