Did you know that Elvis Presley is referred to as the
Born in Tupelo, Mississippi on January 8, 1935, was Elvis Aaron Presley. In 1948, he and his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating from high school, Elvis began singing locally as "The Hillbilly Cat," later signing with RCA in 1955. A year later he was cast in his first acting role, a supporting part in "Love Me Tender." It was the first of thirty-three movies he starred in. On May 1956, it was Robert Johnson, the reporter at Memphis Press Scimitar that wrote an article calling Elvis, "The fledgling king of rock ‘n' roll." In 1958, Elvis was drafted into the military where he later met his future wife, with whom he had a daughter. Throughout the 60s, Elvis settled in Hollywood, starring in movies, musicals, and co-starring in other movies. He made a huge comeback in the 70s with live concert appearances with 57 sold-out shows. Touring all over the United States, he appeared in at least 500 live shows. Soon his marriage ended and combined with the stress of traveling and depressants took a toll on his heart. At the age of 42, Elvis had passed away due to a heart attack. He had sold 600 million singles and albums all over the world. To this day Elvis Presley is the only performer to get inducted into three different music "Hall of Fame."
