The Nicki/Cardi beef has been brewing long before their altercation in the club. This beef seemingly started in March of 2017, when Nicki seemed to like a tweet dissing Cardi B. Although she swore it was photo-shopped, the two started taking digs back and forth to one another. Song lyrics like “I heard these labels are trying to make another me / Everything you’re getting little hoe is because of me," although Minaj swore again this wasn't about Cardi, fans seemed to believe it was. The beef spilled into 2018 when Cardi B stated she'd heard Minaj talking about her baby with Offset. The scorned mom took to the media about it. In 2019, Nicki canceled on the BET concert scheduled after the network came out as pro-Cardi, a move that was viewed as petty and trite. To this day the two still swear not to be beefing, while beefing on all the social platforms.
