Some teams seem to change their logos every few years while others stick with one logo and make it one of the greatest icons in their sport. Regardless of how long a logo has been around, it's special to the team's fans, who in many cases can recognize it from just seeing a small part of it. We've decided to test how well our fans can identify the logos of the NBA by giving you a portion of all 30 NBA logos and letting you see if you can figure out which team we're talking about. Will you prove to be an NBA logo All-Star, or should you spend the next All-Star weekend brushing up on the symbols of these squads? Take our 30-question quiz and find out just how well your knowledge of logos stacks up with the rest!
Let us introduce you to the Listicle Liege, the Article Aficionado, the one and only Nathan. Since creating his first photo collage at the age of five with images clipped from his mom’s Chatelaine magazines (all of them), it’s been nearly impossible to stem this one’s tide of visual learning. Be it the annals of history or the latest celeb gossip, Nathan has probably researched it, likely already has a folder of relevant photos on his desktop, and definitely learned a lot of interesting facts to go with those images. Whereas most well-read adults have bookshelves full of classic literature, Nathan’s stacks are composed of National Geographic and TIME special editions and a curated section of first-grade readers (for inspiration). If you prefer picture books to wordy novels, listicles by Nathan are right up your alley.
The Chicago Bulls have carried the same red-tipped horn logo since Day 1 of their franchise in 1966. The Bulls are actually the third team to call Chicago home in the NBA era; they took their name as an homage to the stockyards of the city, which made it the home of much of the United States' meatpacking efforts. There's also a legend that the Bulls' first owner wanted to name the team the Matadors or Toreadors in honor of the meatpacking industry, but his son called his choices a "bunch of bull" and Bulls instead became the choice.
