Chantelle took to the written word like a fish takes to water. That is to say, she found herself immersed in literature from before she was born. She’s been known to tell her friends all about how she can still remember the passages she heard her mother read to her when she was in the womb - Emily Dickinson, Jane Austen, and a bit of Hunter S. Thompson thrown in to balance it out. Whether she’s whipping up pithy one-liners to tease your brain or busy working on her second novel (the first one is available on Amazon under a pen name she refuses to disclose), Chantelle has continued to keep her feet wet with words, as it were. You’re sure to get a kick out of her giggle-worthy explanations and outrageous hints, and still come away feeling like you’ve just expanded your knowledge base.
According to the U.S. Constitution, the president is supposed to give periodic updates to Congress. Article II, Section 3 specifically states that “He shall from time to time give Congress information of the State of the Union and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.” There is no date set in stone, but it usually takes place sometime in late January or early February.
For decades, the State of the Union was delivered to Congress in the form of a written report. Woodrow Wilson, however, started the trend that the President delivers the State of the Union in the form of a speech made to a joint session of Congress. It’s customary that one member of the President’s cabinet does not attend and is the “designated survivor” in the event of a disaster, as the event is attended by the President, Vice-President, Cabinet members, the Chief Justice, and Associate Justices.
