BTS is a global sensation that has taken the world by storm with heartfelt lyrics and a genuine, close connection with fans and each other. A K-Pop group heralding from Korea, they’ve changed the genre permanently, redefining what it means to create music in Korea and pushing other groups to be better and more creative. Their impact has been far-reaching and changed many of their fans’ lives for the better. Through charities and outreach in their native country and beyond, the band's members have also used their millions to better the lives of others. There’s a reason their fanbase spans young children to adolescents to older adults and grandparents. Their concert venues are packed and often sold out in minutes — or less. True BTS fans are everywhere, but superfans may be a little harder to find. Think you’re one of them? Take our BTS quiz and find out!
Chantelle took to the written word like a fish takes to water. That is to say, she found herself immersed in literature from before she was born. She’s been known to tell her friends all about how she can still remember the passages she heard her mother read to her when she was in the womb - Emily Dickinson, Jane Austen, and a bit of Hunter S. Thompson thrown in to balance it out. Whether she’s whipping up pithy one-liners to tease your brain or busy working on her second novel (the first one is available on Amazon under a pen name she refuses to disclose), Chantelle has continued to keep her feet wet with words, as it were. You’re sure to get a kick out of her giggle-worthy explanations and outrageous hints, and still come away feeling like you’ve just expanded your knowledge base.
BTS have donated to numerous charities, both as a group independently. In June of 2020, the media revealed the group donated $1 million towards the Black Lives Matter movement, along with unnamed amounts to various charities that fight racial inequality. For this 26th birthday, Suga donated 100 million won, equivalent to about $88,000, to the Korean Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Jin donated over 700 lbs to pet food to a local animal shelter. Their charitable donations often inspire their fans to follow suit; one celebrity superfan even matched the group’s donation to Black Lives Matter.
