No-budget movies

The 1990s was a pioneering and experimental era for the development and production of films. Low budget films like The Blair Witch Project showed that sometimes it isn’t always about the amount of money put into the film but instead about creating genuine quality films that will provoke emotions in the audience. Films were also increasingly produced to be easier to convert to DVD or VHS format and Disney seemingly entered a renaissance era in the early 90s. The 1990s also marked an influx of foreign directors and actors into the Hollywood scene, leading to a greater diversity of ideas and cultures in modern western cinema. The 1990s also showed a rise of independent production companies and movie studios who began to crop up all over the place by the time the century was over.
