The Office (US) Quiz

Before Parks and Rec, B99, and The Good Place, there was Scranton. In 2005, NBC introduced us to Michael Scott and his fellow Dunder Mifflin employees in The Office. And there they would stay for nine seasons of workplace humor, will-they-won't-they romance, and, well, paper. The Office began in the UK at the hands of comedians Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Gervais' David Brent gave a trope to everyone's awkward boss, and after NBC adapted the show for US audiences, Michael Scott was soon doing the same across the pond. The Office really kickstarted the trend of satirical, documentary-style workplace comedies. In The Office, we found relatability, no matter what our jobs were in real life. We all knew a Dwight or an Andy, and if we didn't, we were them. Therefore, as all great TV shows do, the show spawned countless quizzes like "Which Character from The Office Are You?" It's also quotable to the point where even those who have never seen an episode probably know a Scott-ism or two. Showrunner Greg Daniels inserted a big part of himself into it (that's what she said). But how much do you know about The Office? It's time, Dunderheads. Let's test those skills.

Did you know?

A lot of interesting things happen behind the scenes in the television world. One of these is casting. Can you imagine a Dunder Mifflin world where somebody other than John Krasinski played Jim? We can't either -- but we were almost plunged into that alternate reality. Showrunners initially gunned for Adam Scott — of Parks and Recreation and Step Brothers fame — to play the role. And Seth Rogen could have appeared as Dwight Schrute, iconically and inimitably portrayed by Rainn Wilson. Possibly the biggest near-miss also came with John Krasinski's audition. Although he was originally supposed to audition for Dwight, he convinced the casting directors to let him audition for Jim. When he was in the waiting room, he then told somebody that he was nervous about the show not taking off. That somebody turned out to be the executive producer, Greg Daniels. Oops.
